CORNELIA CHESTON
Founder, co-owner and Chief Executive Officer for Search Dogs, Inc. Prior to entering the
K-9 field full time, she was a department manager and computer analyst for such major corporations as EDS and Nations Bank. Cornelia founded SDI in 1999 and brings to the company over fifteen year's experience in K-9 training and handling. She is experienced with training and handling dogs in Search and Rescue (SAR), Narcotics Detection (NDD) and Explosives Detection (EDD). She is a NDD and EDD Certifying Agent for DRUGBEAT, International. She has worked under contract for the DoD Police as lead Explosive Detection Dog handler since 2000. MS Cheston is the lead dog handler on many of SDI's government contracts as well as executive protection, school narcotics sweeps, and high visibility events that required explosive detector dogs. MS Cheston is a registered Armed Security Officer with arrest powers.
MAJ PETE CHESTON
MAJ Cheston has been handling and training dogs in Search and Rescue (SAR), Narcotics Detection (NDD) and Explosives Detection (EDD) since 1995. MAJ Cheston worked for the Pentagon on 9-11, and was at "Ground Zero" as an EDD Handler following the attacks on September 11, 2001. He has extensive experience in setting up and operating both narcotics and explosives detection K-9 operations. MAJ Cheston's military career includes over 27 years domestic and overseas combat assignments as a Special Forces officer. His specialties are special operations and counter terrorism. His military and civilian background serves him well in executive protection and facilities security assignments. MAJ Cheston is a Law Enforcement Officer with the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Special Conservator of the Peace.
